Ghiyasuddin Balban غياث الدين بلبن

Ghiyasuddin Balban was a key Sultan of the Delhi Sultanate during the Mamluk dynasty. He rose to power after serving as a trusted advisor and general under earlier sultans. As Sultan, Balban emphasized the consolidation of the Sultanate's authority, introducing a centralized administration and strengthening the military. He is also credited with instituting a strict code of discipline and reinforcing the idea of kingship by upholding awe and dignity in court.
