Mohammad Beheshti was an influential Iranian jurist, theologian, and politician who played a pivotal role in the establishment of the Islamic Republic of Iran. As one of the key architects of the post-revolutionary political system, he contributed significantly to drafting the country's constitution and establishing the foundation for an Islamic governance model. Beheshti was also the secretary-general of the Islamic Republican Party and worked to consolidate the Islamic Republic's political framework during its formative years. He was tragically assassinated in the 1981 Hafte Tir bombing, which was attributed to opposition groups.
